DAY 257 (Sunday 15 April 2012)

Day 7 of Everest Trek – DINGBOCHE to LOBOCHE

We set of for LOBOCHE just after breakfast but it was actually just after 0730 hours.  We had actually woken up to snow but fortunately it was only a slight smattering of snow, not much to get too worried about.  Our lunch stop was at a place called DHUKPA after which we had at least an hour’s steep climbing which was not fun

Climb from DHUKPA tea house

When we got to the top of the rock climb it was a steady walk, partly downhill into LOBOCHE, when we got to LOBOCHE it had started to snow but fortunately it wasn’t settling but if it does it could hamper our trek to KALAPHATAR tomorrow.

The room that we were given for our stay is actually made out of plywood so you could hear everything; it will no doubt be freezing during the night so I think more layers of clothing will be required to sleep in.

I hope that the weather doesn’t hamper our attempt to get to KALAPHATAR otherwise we will have to start heading down a day early.

The height that we have achieved today was 4930 meters.
